Hell Bunny of the Day + New Deadly Dames

Here are a couple of odds and ends I thought might be of interest!

For the last few months I’ve wanted to try a non-halter Hell Bunny style, like the red gingham Chantal Dress linked here. When the Chantal sold out in my size at JBR Clothing, I steeled myself to look into other fabric options in the same cut. Luckily, my friend Jessica discovered that the minty green Tigerlili Dress from Hell Bunny was a completely different shade than the “conversation heart” hue of the Olivie Dress, which I already own. So, I decided to give it a try!

The color is a light, fresh pastel green covered with white pindots, pink and blue flowers, and vibrant red cherries and strawberries. The straps attached to the back of the bodice via buttons, and are adjustable. The back of the bodice features the usual Hell Bunny stretchy, ruched panels, but bear in mind that the waistband and upper bodice hem are not ruched and do not offer any stretch. That said, my previous fears about bust fit in the Hell Bunny XL (I’m 42/43-32/33-48, and Hell Bunny lists their XL bust max at 40″) were unfounded.

I’ve also just received one of the new Darling Dames L’Amour Dresses from Pinup Girl Clothing, which features a black-and-white gingham skirt and pink chiffon bodice. As usual, I got a 2x to accommodate my 48″ hips, which means that the bodice and waist are too big and the waist too long to wear without alterations. Other than the sizing issue, though, the dress is really pretty. I’m looking forward to wearing it to work this summer and fall.

  1. Hello! I really like the tigerlili dress! It fits you perfectly!
I wanted to order the Isobel dress but I was afraid it wouldn’t fit as the back doesn’t seem to be stretchy in the back… I got the kiki’s dress but it came too big because of the strechy patch in the back. So now I don’t know which size to order… Are all you hell bunny dresses the same size?

    1. Thanks, Audrey!

My previous Hell Bunny Dresses all have the fully-expanding back panels, and are wearable but a bit big on me. They are all size 2x. I got the Tigerlili in a size down (XL), and it’s just right. I couldn’t go any lower than XL in Tigerlili, though, because the the top part – right around my upper chest – has no stretch at all.
