So far I’ve only heard one complaint about Jonny Lee Miller’s age, and I can’t remember the source. I know I stuck the link on ye olde blog, here, when I saw it. I’ll have to dig back to find it. It made me laugh because it’s the Jeremy Northam thing all over again, hah!

The only thing that hit me about casting was not Emma and Mr Knightley individually, but as a pair. I don’t think Miller looks enough older than Garai, and it’s important to the plot that he should. It’s hard to pretend you don’t know the story, but if you make yourself think like someone finding out what happens for the first time, the age difference has to be clearly almost a generation of difference so you don’t suspect they might pair up until very late in the game.

I haven’t read any other commentary. Is anyone else bringing this up?
